ABOUT LUMINOUS MUSIC
Located in Glasgow, Luminous Music develop new music for international gamelan
performance, and for contemporary dance, ballet and film. Luminous Music
studios began at the Diorama, Regents Park, London in 1974. Our music has been
developed principally for performance with professional dance, independent
choreographers, performers and film.
Spanning relocations from London to Seattle and now in Glasgow, Luminous are
beginning to release a catalogue of unique percussion based music that includes
both current works and archival recordings. Much of this music re-defines ways
in which percussion instruments, modern and primitive can be enticed or cajoled into showing their extraordinary possibilities.
Currently we feature a collection of music by percussionist Jon Keliehor, from
works in the UK, Venezuela and the USA. In addition to new music, Luminous are
the European contact for the activities of West Coast rock groups The Daily
Flash and Bodine. Music can be purchased from the Luminous on-line catalogue
and can be previewed from samples within the website.
